Difference Between Designers

As per every email, I'm going to get straight to the point.

All designers do not come the same. I'm going to break down the different types of "designers" and how their clothing lines work.

The Creative Director: The person is a creative. They can imagine a clothing line, a feeling, and a world. They might even be able to sketch. They hand a sketch and a purpose over to the head of the production team. Manufacturer makes it happen.

The Logo Slapper: This person does not do any garment design. They pick a garment, (t-shirt, sweatshirt, tank, etc.),  out of a catalogue that manufacturers provide. Blank clothes. They hire someone to make their logo, and they send and email to the manufacturer with the logo file to get slapped on different garments. No experience needed.

The Fashion Designer: Start to finish. Ides, sketch, pattern making, fabric supply and cutting, construction, and alterations. These people have to pay more for supplies because its not bulk savings. Also since they don't buy bulk overseas not as many options are available for fabric and notions. Making one garment is a long, tedious, and very satisfying process. Good luxurious quality. Designer.

Can you guess which I am?

Don't hesitate to DM or email me with any questions about it.

See me rant about it here.
